Dracaena steudneri

Dragon tree.   Most of this species are tolerant of low light levels and are favourites among interior landscapers as office plants.  Also available in the slightly less shade tolerant variegated form.

Will tolerate low light levels

1ft tall (30cm) to 2.5m

Cut off stems that are too tall and side shoots will appear.

Mealy bug.

Occasionally sends up a flower spike that smell like Hyacvinths.

Leaves get thin and long when in poor light.

A variegated form: ‘golden coast’
