Very spiky leaves.

The Giant Yucca.  Only just missed the top ten because of the sharp pointed leaves.   The markings on the wooden stem are where leaves have been removed or lost and the stem would originally have had a head of growth on top.   Variegated forms are available but the unusual colouring makes them look as if there are physiological problems.
